European "Supergrid" project comes to a halt

The BBC posted an article about the project of a transnational "supergrid" in the Saharan desert.  The concept was to enable the transmission of electricity generated from renewable sources and particularly solar power from North Africa to the European interconnected grid.  Unfortunately, the project is threatened from many angles, including political concerns and two major participants dropping out.  Read on: Desert power grid article
